The serene hanok where Youn Yuh-jung, Lee Seo-jin, Jung Yu-mi, Park Seo-joon and Choi Woo-shik hosted international guests on the variety show Youn’s Stay is Ssangsanjae in Gurye, South Jeolla. One of Gurye’s three great old houses, it has been kept by the same family for over 200 years.
Through a narrow gate the estate unfolds into a main house, detached quarters, a wide courtyard, a bamboo grove and tea fields. Admission is the price of a single drink (about ₩10,000) — take your tea and sit anywhere in the house.
Hwaeomsa Temple, Jirisan Mountain and the Seomjingang River are all close by, making an easy overnight trip from anywhere in Korea.
