Jeonju Hanok Village is a downtown cluster of some 700 tiled hanok houses — and a food pilgrimage. Web-variety host Park Joon-hyung (Wassup Man) came here for a ‘local’s pick’ eating tour, from bibimbap to street snacks.
Gyeonggijeon Shrine (which enshrines a portrait of King Taejo), the Romanesque Jeondong Catholic Church, Omokdae pavilion and the hanbok-rental streets blend tradition, modern architecture and food in one walkable place.
Fuel up on Jeonju bibimbap and kongnamul-gukbap (bean-sprout rice soup), then walk Gyeonggijeon, Jeondong Church and Nambu Market. Many sites discount entry if you wear hanbok.
