In the 'money war: Tongyeong' episode of Hangout with Yoo, Yoo Jae-suk, Haha, Heo Kyung-hwan, Joo Woo-jae and Yang Sang-guk roamed Heo Kyung-hwan's hometown of Tongyeong. The Tongyeong cable car, ocean-view cafes and the abalone restaurants around Gangguan all made appearances of Tongyeong's food and sights.
Gangguan is a cozy harbor in the heart of downtown Tongyeong, and clinging to the hillside above it is Dongpirang, a village covered in colorful murals. Climb the alleys to see the paintings and the sea together, then take the Tongyeong cable car up Mireuksan for a sweeping view of the Hallyeo islands.
The classic course is to eat chungmu gimbap, honey bread and abalone at the Jungang Market, then walk Dongpirang and Gangguan. Boats to Yokjido and Hansando also depart nearby.
