Buseoksa in Yeongju is where the cast of 2 Days & 1 Night Season 1 stopped while touring 'the land of the scholars,' rounding out the episode with a visit to the nearby Seonbichon scholars' village and the old charm of northern Gyeongbuk.

Buseoksa was founded by the monk Uisang in the Unified Silla era and is famous for Muryangsujeon — counted among Korea's oldest wooden buildings — and its entasis (baeheullim) pillars. The layered ridgelines of Sobaeksan seen from the courtyard in front of Muryangsujeon are the temple's finest view.

Pair it with Sosuseowon, Seonbichon and Museom Village for a natural overnight in Yeongju, 'the land of the scholars.' Yeongju is also known for its hanwoo beef, perfect to add a meal.
