Cheongsando in Wando is the island where, in the global special of 2 Days & 1 Night Season 1, the cast traveled with an overseas friend — and cooked ramen under the blazing sun on the island's country paths.
Cheongsando is the 'island of slowness,' the first place in Asia designated a Slow City. The ochre paths and stone walls made famous by the film Seopyeonje, the gudeuljang terraced rice paddies, and the rape-flower and barley fields that turn golden in spring all invite you to walk it slowly.
It's reached by ferry from Wando Port, and the best way around is on foot along the 'Slow Roads.' Pair it with Cheonghaejin and the seaweed cuisine of the main Wando island for a southern-island trip.
