Gwinemi Village in Taebaek was one of the stages where the cast of 2 Days & 1 Night Season 1 created laughs alongside senior guests in the Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) special, capturing the warm, homey scenery of a mountain village.
Gwinemi sits on a high ridge around 1,000 m above sea level. In summer its vast highland cabbage fields form a green wave, with wind turbines spinning above for an almost otherworldly scene. It's also a favorite of photographers for autumn silver grass and sunrises.
Pair it with Taebaeksan, Geomnyongso and the Maebongsan Windy Hill for an overnight on the Gangwon plateau. As it's farmland and a residential area, explore with consideration for the crops and paths.
