Heuksando in Sinan is the setting fans remember as an 'all-time legend' from the island episodes of 2 Days & 1 Night Season 1, where rough seas met the cast's struggles head-on.
Heuksando is a large island about two hours by express ferry from Mokpo — the home of fermented skate (hongeo) and a waypoint toward nearby Hongdo and Gageodo. Its highlights are the archipelago views from the island's loop road, the Sangnabong observatory and the place of exile of the scholar Choi Ik-hyeon.
It's often combined with a Hongdo cruise for an overnight or longer. Cancellations are common, so check the Mokpo ferry operator's schedule in advance.
