Ulleungdo and Dokdo are where the cast of 2 Days & 1 Night Season 1 made headlines as the first Korean variety show to set foot on Dokdo. The scene of treating the Dokdo coast guards to jjajangmyeon is still talked about today.
Ulleungdo is reached by ferry from Pohang, Gangneung or Mukho, and the boat to Dokdo departs again from Ulleungdo. Both islands are highly weather-sensitive and schedules shift often, so treat landing on Dokdo as a 'lucky bonus' and build your trip around a loop of Ulleungdo.
